Clemente Soccer vs Jones College Prep Eagles

clemente-soccer-vs-jones-college-prep-eaglesOn Tuesday, September 27th, the Clemente Wildcats Boys Varsity soccer team hosted conference leaders, the Jones College Prep Eagles, at the Allstate Turf field in Humboldt Park. As the last home game of the regular season for the Wildcats, Clemente began the game with their usual defensive approach, led by senior captain, Eduardo Cervantes. Eduardo has been an integral part of the defense for the past three years and looked to finish off his last home game on a positive note.

Clemente struggled to make their presence felt on the field, as the Eagles kept possession of the ball in the Wildcats half for most of the first half. The game was balanced, until the Eagles were able to capitalize on a defensive miscue and score at the 19th minute, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Although the Wildcats played solid defense, they were not able to keep the Eagles away from a 3-0 at halftime in favor of the Eagles.

The second half was fought hard from the moment the whistle blew. The Wildcats played a much more offensive second half, creating some goal scoring opportunities that were blocked by the Eagles goalkeeper resulting in a final score of 8-0, in favor of Jones College Prep.
