Law in American Society (280101R / 280102R)
These courses will focus on the various facets of the law making and democratic processes in the United States and globally. Students will analyze, synthesize, and connect important judicial and political events within and outside of the United States. The study of multiple texts ill focus on the tensions between the governments obligations to protect society, while maintaining individual inalienable rights. Students will examine early American law and government including the founding documents, political culture and ideology, the role of the media, criminal and civil law, and how these have evolved into modern es and co pare to others around the globe.
