Roberto Clemente Community Academy's Counseling Department believes that College is possible for every student. We work closely with the Chicago Public School's Department of Post Secondary Education. We follow the "Student Development Four Pillars Model" of Community and School Leadership, Social Personal Growth, Individualized Post Secondary Preparation, and Integrated Academics. The counselors provide individual and group counseling for academic, social emotional, and post high school concerns. We have a Post Secondary Lab where students can search for colleges, work on Keytrain and ACT online preparation, and receive College and Career advising. We also take field trips to colleges, invite speakers from local universities, and participate in service learning and internship activities to ensure that all students are knowledgeable of their future choices.
The mission of the Roberto Clemente Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and differentiated guidance curriculum that inspires and promotes the academic, career and personal/social development of our students. Our goal is to graduate students who will possess the self-knowledge, interpersonal skills, academic rigor and professional standards essential to maximizing their full potential and becoming successful contributors to society.
