Community Round-table

Community Round-tableOn Wednesday, September 12th CPS CEO Jean-Claude Brizard hosted a Principal/Community Round-table in the Roberto Clemente Community Academy Library. Over 30 Humboldt Park community/school stakeholders including 1st Ward Alderman Joe "Proco" Moreno, as well as 8 elementary and high school principals participated in the dialogue led by CEO Brizard and Chicago Board of Education Vice President Jesse Ruiz. The engaging discussion centered on supporting principals retaining the right to make hiring decisions that are in the best interest of student needs, instructional vision and overall fit for the respective school-based team. Additionally, community members endorsed principal autonomy and cited many examples of the benefits they have witnessed in our very own Principal, Marcey Sorensen. click here to see our gallery.
