JROTC Competition

In the early morning hours in the Clemente Link, you can hear drill commands sounding through the air. This is the JROTC preparing for competition! They have determination, concentration and focus in their eyes and victory in their hearts!

The Roberto Clemente Drill Team, Individual Drill with Rifle Team, and Color Guard Team competed on December 14 at Carver Military Academy. They competed against 20 other JROTC programs in the Novice Division of the JROTC City Wide Drill Competition. The competition included Drill, uniform inspection with answering formal questions, color guard movements as well as individual drill movements with a rifle. These competitions are done in groups, so uniformity and precision are key.

The teams were led and trained by cadets Maria Estrada, Ashley Roman and Noel Almodovar, and were overseen by SFC Keisler. Clemente’s team achieved their highest scores in over nine years, placing 8th in color guard, 11th in drill, 6th in inspection and 6th in IDR. The team achieved 4th place overall in the Novice Division against their 20 competitors. Congratulations, JROTC Wildcats!
