From teaching skills of personal expertise to engaging in family activities to advocating on your child's behalf, parents work hard to ensure that the unique needs of their family are met. CPS Parent University recognizes the diverse roles parents undertake when helping their children reach their full potential. Our programming is meant to enhance engagement happening at home, in school, or within the greater community and to promote side by side learning. In addition, parents who earn digital badges through our program can unlock additional opportunities!
Parent University's guiding principles are:
Cyber Cafe I. - [LSC 9 module training]
Online training through ChicagoCityofLearning modules. Come earn badges with me Mon,Wed,Fri from 930-1030. All are invited, you don't have to be a part of LSC.
Cyber Cafe II - [Digital Learn Curriculum] with Chicago Public Libraries.
Basic & Intermediate hands-on tech class. Come practice Typing 101, Resume Building, File Sharing, and More! Tuesdsay, & Thursday from 2pm-3pm Room 316.
Action to Interest
Come be active with your individual/group assessed needs and interests. The class through surveys, will create action activities such as: Book Clubs, Walk Clubs, Stretch Demos, Field Trips, and anything else our community discusses.
Parent To Parent (P2P) Journalism Class (In Spanish!)
This journalism class gives parents the chance to explore, research, write and publish the upcoming edition of P2P Magazine.
