Chicago State University is known for their unique style in teaching and research. Chicago State University also prides itself on promoting ethical leadership, entrepreneurship, and social and environmental justice. They have a deep commitment in embracing, educating, engaging and empowering their students and community in order to transform minds in a local and global sense.

Chicago State University has been educating minds for almost 150 years. Before it became a university, it was first a teacher training school in Blue Island Illinois. The enrollment back then was 62 students. Presently, Chicago State University’s campus is in the south side of Chicago on 161 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with a student population of over 7,200.

The long 150 year history of this institution had been through many changes ranging from its name, its area of study and location. That being said, Chicago State University has never floundered on their educational mission and its duty to the community.

Through this time, Chicago State University has become a nationally acclaimed school that commits to educate anybody who attends. It is a very affordable school that serves mostly Illinois residents. The school is continuously changing to provide the best, higher education possible as they prepare students for success in a 21st century world.
