The STAR Scholarship is a scholarship given to students in need of financial aid. It is specifically awarded to students attending the City Colleges of Chicago. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a high school graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have an ACT score or placement test score that indicates one is college-ready. If those requirements are met, you will be able to pursue an associate degree at the City Colleges of Chicago at no cost, free tuition and books. A recipient of this scholarship must then enroll in one of the City Colleges of Chicago’s structured and relevant pathways.
The City Colleges of Chicago want to support high school graduates, both academically and financially. They want to ensure that all students in Chicago have the necessary tools to continue their education after high school.
