The Clemente Boys Basketball team finished up their opening week of basketball with a 3-1 record. Participating at the First Annual Clemente Classic, the team finished in third place overall. They defeated Golder, CICS Larry Hawkins, and Alcott High School, all by a score of 15 or more. Their only defeat came at the hands of Austin High School, who went on to place second in the tournament.

The Boys hosted the Clemente Classic which had 8 teams from all over the city of Chicago. Urban Prep West defeated Austin in the final game to bring home the championship trophy, while Clemente defeated Alcott in the third place game.

Junior Joe Rhymes took home All Tournament Team, as one of the best 6 players in the tournament. He averaged 3 steals, and 18 points per game. The Wildcats continue to play Sunday at the Jimmy Sanders/Sean Harrington Hall of Fame Classic Sunday morning at Collins High School.
