Boys Basketball Wraps Up One of Its Best Seasons

boys basketball web storyThe Boys Basketball Team finished their season off in the IHSA Playoffs with a loss against Wauconda High School at St. Patricks High School in the Regional Semi-Finals. The Boys battled to a 65-61 loss.

Junior Jamaul Perdue led the team in scoring with 21 points, a career high. Junior Richard Labon scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds. And Senior Lamon Phillips wrapped up the season with 15 points, including 4 three pointers.

The team would not be where they are without the leadership of its two seniors, Lamon Phillips, and Ivan Vazquez. Both students, who have received educational scholarships to multiple schools, will be pursuing their post-secondary careers at Illinois State. The seniors were great examples of how to be student athletes, as both boys had the highest GPAs on the team.

Next year, the team will return 9 of its 10 leading scorers and will hopefully build on one of the most successful seasons in Clemente Basketball history. Thank you to all the fans, parents, and staff that have supported the team.
