Cooking up Change is a dynamic competition that challenges Chicago high school culinary students to create healthy school meals that not only taste good but also offer students something they want to eat. The competition also puts student voices first when it comes to school food, by challenging them to create healthy school lunches that other students will enjoy.
As an alumnus of Roberto Clemente Community Academy, I loved participating in this yearly competition. No matter how much we may have disliked the lunch food, this was our chance to impact the student menu choices in CPS. It’s both nerve-wracking and exhilarating to while present to the ten judges knowing they will be considering every one of the Culinary Programs in CPS.
Clemente Junior Trinity Rosario not only participated in the competition, but she was also nominated to be the only student judge on 2018 Cooking up Change Competition panel.
Congrats on representing the CTE greatness of Clemente! Keep up the good work, Trinity!
