Rhymes Leads Wildcats Past Manley, 26-6
On Saturday September 19th, the Clemente football team defeated Manley H.S. at Rockne Stadium, with a final score of 26-6.
After a slow start 1st quarter, with some penalties and miscues, junior Wide-Out and Linebacker Joe Rhymes led both sides of the football team with complete dominance. Rhymes led the defense with 9 solo tackles, 1 interception, and 4 pass rush hurries. Offensively, Rhymes had 3 key receptions with 1 diving, spectacular 34-yard “Superman catch” for a Touchdown, from QB Richard Labon. Key special teams performances from Senior place-kicker Victor Fuentes also contributed to the win, putting Manley on their own 12 & 20 yard lines, a perfect field position for the Wildcat defense.
