Girls Volleyball Team Make State Playoffs

sports-slider-vbThe Roberto Clemente Community Academy Lady Wildcats played their first State Playoff game against Michele Clark Academic Prep Magnet High School. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were defeated 2-1 out of 3 sets. The Wildcats were led by senior standout, Jocelyn Ramirez, who posted 10 kills. Senior, Jazlin Torres added 8 kills and 2 blocks, and junior, Illexia Williams had 5 kills. Despite being ranked over Michele Clark, the Eagles outplayed the Wildcats with their serves and passing. They kept the Wildcats off balance throughout the first match and started with with a 7-1 lead. The final score was 25-18 in the first set. The Lady Wildcats powered their way to win the second set with a final score of 25-23. Unfortunately, the momentum wasn’t enough to win the third match. Despite the loss, the girls had a lot fun and look forward to a rematch with the Eagles. In addition, Jocelyn Ramirez’s leadership was recognized at the match and she has been nominated to play in the All-Star game!
