Girls’ Volleyball Triumphs Over Mather, Falls to Chicago Academy

On Friday, September 12 the Lady Wildcats won on the road against Mather. It was a well-fought match that went all the way to the third game. In the first game the Lady Wildcats lost 25 to 18 because their serves weren’t going over consistently. Then during the second and third games the Lady Wildcats regrouped and improved their serves. Hailid DeJesus (Cheese) had 3 points, Cindymarie Ramos 4 points, Mariah Smith 7 points, Natalis Hernandez 4 points, Kayla Triche 4 points, and Jazmen Myles 3 points – all contributing to win the second game. During the third game, improved serving in tandem with two high-scoring players (Hailid DeJesus with 8 points and Mariah Smith with 9 points) led to an overall match win.

On Monday, September 15 the Lady Wildcats had a home game against Chicago Academy but unfortunately couldn’t get a second win. They lost within the first two games 25-23 and 25-18. They couldn’t stop Chicago Academy from attacking the front net even though Kayla Triche tried to block and protect the net. There was also a small percentage of serves that weren’t being made by the Lady Wildcats which contributed to the loss of the second game. Clemente will meet Chicago Academy again, and the girls will be ready to score more, protect the net and spike the ball in order to secure a win!
